Well, Axel (Mum's horse) is on a final reprieve from being sent back to Mum's in disgrace!
Got to yard this morning to find she's jumped post and rail fence and got in with other 2. I'm rather impressed by this btw as she is 18 and never jumped a lot!
Anyhow, there's not a mark on any of them, so no terrible fighting. The 2 ponies are sticking together and Axel is staying within eyeshot of them. I have watched her mount the old girl again but not as violently as before and the old girl doesn't seem to mind!! Do you think this will stop soon?the mounting i mean! Anyone who has a horse that has done this to another mare, let me know!!

Maybe it'll stop when she realises nothing is happening when she mounts her?

In other species mounting is a dominance activity (when its not sexual I mean). May also be the case with horses when establishing a hierarchy in the group. Just a guess

But no mounting
