None of the ‘waterproof’ rugs we have are actually waterproof.(all new 1200d and unwashed!) I’ve bought cheap and I’ve bought all singing and dancing but no nothing has kept them dry.

Can I just spray Fabsil or similar on them? I’m so fed up of finding soggy horses!

I use Fabsil Gold and brush it on with a paintbrush. I do my turnout rugs once a year and they usually stay waterproof for all winter. The oldest one is 6 years now and still going strong but they are good quality rugs as well.

I've just done paint on Fabsil with my turnouts that are older and no longer waterproof. I'm super impressed with it and water really beads off. Not sure if it'll make them unbreathable but not concerned if I get another season or two out of them.
