Is there a market for them?

First, let me say i love brown tack . . .

But i'm discussing the purchase of two identical saddles (Equipe Emporio) for identical prices with two sellers ones black, ones brown.

If i could keep it forever i'd have the brown, however when we tried a MW on the horse on friday it was too wide, better with a 1/2pad but still bounced slightly at the back so saddler suggested she'd need a M for now. But chances are at sompoint we'll have to upsize to a MW (horse is coming 5) so ideally i need some re-sale value in this saddle.

Is there a re-sale value in brown Equipe's? its the only one i've seen advertised

I bought a brown dressage saddle for a horse I had when I sold it it was gone in a few days the saddler said every body wanted it .

How strange! I've advertised mine a few times, brown Black Country Eloquence and haven't had any interest!

Where are you looking for saddles? What sites are best to advertise on?

Interesting, I was in the same situation as you about 3 years ago and bought a black one in the end for that reason, I've been coveting brown tack ever since, I now need to get a different saddle and I would prefer brown for def. They are rare so you have a smaller pool to compete against but also a smaller market to sell to. So i think it actually would work out the same.

When my comp horses owner bought his dressage saddle we got a 2nd hand SLK about £200/£300 cheaper than it should have been as saddler said he can't shift brown dressage saddles....

i'm just going to go for it - i shouldn't be buying the saddle any way so atleast might aswell get it in a colour i love - but i will now have to get a new bridle too!

Just to add that I don't think you would struggle to re sell, a lot of people love brown tack but struggle to find one when looking second hand. I couldn't find a brown in what I needed so bought a second hand black one instead. Get what you want and what you will enjoy using, if you have the choice.
