Me thinks they might desperately be trying to make the appeal look genuine. Hmmmmmmm, us horsey folk weren't born yesterday! Having been on the link to their website, the 'poor' horsey in question actually doesn't look THAT bad, ok so it'd look a lot different if it was mine but I've seen far worse go through sales in the UK than the horse on their link.

Hello...if anyone wants to give ME money I wouldn't say no either. Will be used strictly for chocolate, vodka, tia maria and other such worthy purchases?
I'll even let you come and see my horses which I rescued from...er....loving homes (or bred myself?)
