There's a re-waterproofing brand that is often recommended on here, but for the life of me can't remember what it is called! It *might* have gold in the title?

I discovered on my lunch break today that last year's utterly waterproof winter coat now leaks slightly at the elbows 😢 So looking to to remedy this ASAP.

Fabsil Gold, absolutely brilliant stuff. The water beads off my rugs even after two years. Make sure you apply it in the open air to clean coat and dry it in a well ventilated place as it really does smell for a while afterwards. Either buy the spray can version or the liquid and decant into a spray bottle.

Does the fabsil stop the rug being as breathable?

Theres a woman at my stables who gets her rugs cleaned every 5 minutes and fusses no end over what weight of rug to put on today because her horse often sweats under his rug despite barely moving in the field. I've often wondered if its the reproofer.

I hardly ever wash the warmer rugs and horses never sweat.

Bear in mind that these reproofers only restore the fabrics ability to shed water, the DWR. If the waterproof coating or membrane is leaking it won't solve that.
Also this! Cut open an old jacket or rug and you'll see that it has a rubbery lining to the material that is damaged by wearing and especially washing.
