re wheat straw

I find wheat straw is not particularly palatable for horses unlike Oats & Barley, however if its clean & dust free it would do no harm to offer it

Not really, I feed 25% wheat and 75% hay wheat straw is too tough and can cause impactation colic if the horse doesn't chew properly. Oat or barley is far softer. also make sure you mix it in fully or the horse will pick and choose.

Wheat straw is not a feeding straw. It is too lignified and indigestible. There is a risk,as has been pointed out ,of impaction colic. The best feeding straw is Oat straw, followed by spring barley straw.
