I went to Reading carriage sales today with a friend and the top lot was a Reading Gypsy/showmans wagon and it went for..............69K!!!!!!!!!!. It was in beautiful condition but I was just gobsmacked at what it made.
Lol, probs went to a big collection. I always mean to go to the sales but far too tempting. The carriage collection I work for goes sometimes tho and I've never been around to go with! grr! Don't suppose you noticed if there were any Harewoods there did you?
Sorry, I don't know much about driving, my friend was looking for something in particular, the name Harewood doesn't ring a bell but doesn't mean there wasn't any there. To me some of them look like they have been discovered in a barn after being there hundreds of years and would have only been useful for firewood but as I say I know nothing about carriages and people were buying them for hundreds of pounds!!
Its worth a trip, especially if you are into driving.......hundreds of sets of harness and othger driving accessories too.
