Real sheepskin girth (not synthetic wool!)

Happy Wednesday everyone 😊

I’m on the hunt for a real sheepskin girth but having real trouble finding one. It seems like everything is synthetic wool nowadays and I don’t want plastic 🥲

I’ve been borrowing an unbranded one from my trainer but I really need to get my own. I’ve found one by Christ lammfelle but before I purchase this one I just wanted to see if anyone knows of any other makes that use real sheepskin?

Lemieux & Kentucky etc use synthetic wool so no good :(
 
Not sure about others but I have 3 Christ Lammfelle (2 long, 1 dressage) and they are amazing. One is over 10 years and still going strong though as it's black it's faded slightly.

Because it's backed into nylon, it washes on the hand wash/delicates setting but you need to use special detergent: Christ or Mattes.

I have a Christ Lammfelle girth for my GP saddle and I love it. It was especially made and I had to wait several months but it was so worth it. It was £120. The company kept in touch with me throughout the 3 months I had to wait and kept apologising to me. I also bought a while back a real sheepskin dressage girth from Ebay for £25 😮 which is alsp lovely, but sadly they are not selling those any more, I think they were very popular, they came from Austrilia.

Seems like the Christ lammfelle one may be the best option. Can I just ask, did you get your normal size in the girth or did you size up? I’ve read a comment saying they ordered a size up due to no elastic and the sheepskin but that’s the only comment I’ve seen saying that

Think I’ll be going for the Christ lammfelle one! Can I just ask if you took your normal size or did you size up? I saw a comment saying to size up due to no elastic and sheepskin so just want to see what the consensus is :)

General consensus seems to be the Christ lammfelle girth! So think I’ll be placing my order today. I read a comment saying to size up due to no elastic and the sheepskin but just want to check if you did that or took your normal size? I’m worried that if I did that once the sheepskin beds down it would be too big.

I’ve been trawling eBay but no luck! I have found some merauno girths on amazon that look ok but they’ve only got dressage length so no good!

I ordered my usual size and it fits beautifully.
