I feel sick.
Just gone onto BHS website to join and a survey came up about hi vis, so I filled it in, completed it and then what came up on my screen? A picture of an accident, with a car, and a horse lying dead I presume in the road.
Now, I have no picture in my mind of Benson after the accident, I think I was away with the fairies on entenox, so dont really remember him laying there.
But I do now.:(:(

I saw that a few weeks ago and thought it was a risky choice of picture, don't know what to say other than the gorgeous boy in your sig is Benson, not the horse you saw on the website, and he will ALWAYS be the gorgeous boy in your sig

This would have upset me too.

I would have at least expected a warning that a picture would appear that some people may find distressing with the option of not displaying the picture if required.

I know awful accidents do happen, but a warning should have been given.

Must have been a really big shock, but you have to start trying to put Benson dying behind you. I know it sounds really trite about him, but you have moved on and you have a very good youngster that you are enjoying (reading back on this, sounds stupid, but cann't find the words)

Ah hon. If they're going to do that they really ought to warn first. As proven this evening, they have no idea who is going to click on it.

Perhaps we could point them in the direction of this thread. I'm not a member but am happy to try and find an email addy and drop them a bell.

oh I filled it out and dont remember seeing that?

Sorry it upset you not surprised....but am surprised if no warning.

I filled it in a while back and don't remember anything like that

I agree with Jesstickle - perhaps they should be reminded that images like that cause a lot of upset, especially if someone has been involved in an accident like you have, benson.

I really dont know how I came to the page. I was filling out the membership form, then it asked if I wanted to do the survey, which I did. When I went back to the membership form it popped up. I have emailed them to ask if they could either remove it or put a warning up for the people who dont want to see it.
I am movong on from Benson, it has taken some time but with the help of a councellor I am getting there. but with the pain I have in my back, and also the trial looming close, I guess it hit me hard. thanks for all of your kind words. xx

I can imagine how upsetting that must be for you, be interesting to see what their response is, in one way I can see how shock tactics can work to encourage people to wear hi viz, but I can also see how many would find looking at something like that very upsetting, even if you haven't been involved in a RTA or lost a horse, so yes I agree they should warn before showing images like that.

((hugs))

I certainly wouldn't get over something like that either but have never experienced it although I have seen the aftermath of an incident like that when i was told it was my mum and her horse that were in the road. It wasn't but i ran all the way along that road that day, past the stationary traffic to be confronted with a scene similar to what you say is shown in the BHS pic. I think they should have a warning if they are going to show something like that.

The whole point is it's meant to shock. If they put up a warning, it wouldn't work. So sorry you've been upset hun but if their shock tactics work and save even 1 more horse from death on the roads then it has to be worth it x

Spoke to BHS this morning, and they say the report finishes at the end of the week. They say that the shock tactics of it does work, which I agree with, but when I said maybe you could kind of put a warning of sorts before the picture came up they agreed.
After a night of quite vivid dreams I feel much better now I have spoken to someone about it.
