I'm really really angry! I have just got my times for the area festival at Wellington riding and they have given me the most ridiculous times! I am about a two hour drive from Hampshire so I specified on my entry form for a time late in the class or at the end of the class e.g. between 11-12. I also specified to do the non-area festival class first as Louis gets tense in new environments and I wanted to use the first class as a warm up.

Well they have given me the area festival class first and at 9.50am which means leaving me yard about 5.30am and being up at the yard about 4.30am to plait up and get ready...grrrr!

Do I complain or do I just bite my tongue?

area festivals are a drawn order - absolutely nothing you can do. no point even requesting times for them. the only time they will jiggle times is if you're riding more than one horse.

last time i entered Wellington festivals i got times of 8am and 2pm and i lived an hour away - needless to say i withdrew. Now only go to Patchetts who run multiple arenas at once so never need to give times so far apart.

Thanks for the info, Unfortunately I guessed that would be the case so I'll just have to be prepared for a VERY early morning! I would have done the area festival at patchetts as it is 10 mins away from me but I was at Horse Camp that weekend. At least the times of my two classes are not too far appart (9.50 and 10.20)...I guess I should be thankful for that!

TBH think of all the people requesting late times? You have to have a REALLY good excuse IMO or the organisers won't take it.
Also, it's only one day, don't worry about it! And someoone has to go at those times, and probably no-one wants them!

Hi

I wouldn't complain...if I were you I would ring them immediatly and ask as politely as possible if there is any chance that you could go later in the class- perhaps they have a cancellation or something?

Good luck, have fun!
