When I ride Pete goes quite nicely now. However I have found my feet bob around alot, I put the weight down into my heel and try to apply even pressure to the stirrup but my lower leg bounces so much it is impossible to keep my toe from turning out. Is it just me being picky? I dont know whether it is just because he is so bouncy and is a big horse for me to keep together...? Any ideas..I managed my last canter today and my toe seemed not to have turned which is good. I guess looking down at them to see if they are bobbing about doesn't help cause you loose balance..maybe it is only when I look down and I should get someone to video me so I can see. Other than that he is going really nicely currently...

When I ride without they are fine. My stirrups are pretty much the right length. They used to be to long when I couldn't go with his movement but now I find it easier.

Thanks anyway.

Think 'heel out' rather than toe in - advice borrowed from the Mary Wanless 'Ride with your Mind' concept. Helps stabilise my leg no end!

Wow! Thank you so much HelsB! That has to of been the best trick I have ever learnt. My leg feels 99.9% more stable and my toes hardly turn out at all. I am jumping tommorow so I must try it then.
