Watch how obedient (or intelligent) these horses are as they're being moved along a highway. I guess they don't need horseboxes in Iceland!

I've not seen that riding position before, oh, except once last week when there was a programme on TV about a fair somewhere in the UK where travellers brought their cobs to sell. There was one guy 'trotting' very fast up and down the road and he sat in that position - looked really funny, I didn't realise it was a recognised way.

I guess the horses in the video stick together as part of the herd. Not too much traffic in Iceland either and I suppose they give way to a herd of horses in much the same way we give way to herds of cows being driven along the road for milking.

Does look like a fun place to ride.

I've done this!! I went on a riding holiday in Northern Iceland about 2 years ago - it was amazing! Sooo the best holiday ever, the icelandic poines are awesome! We rode with a free running herd and at one point did go down the side of a road like that and a tanker went past, no problemmo - the best thing is that road is probably route 1 - the main motorway (and only motorway) in Iceland! Honestly it's the most awesome country, I'd recommend it to anyone. The ponies in my sig are Icealandics in Iceland.
