I bought one of these head collars for Bob about 10 months ago http://www.steveandcarolsequestrian....ull-headcollar.
I have looked after it and have washed it once, in a pillow case at 30 degrees.
Here it is when I first got it, I was delighted with it, it looked so smart!

Now though parts of the padding have come off on the noseband and headpiece leaving white patches - it looks so scruffy :(
Am I being unreasonable to have expected it to last longer than 10 months?
I have emailed them but they have said there is nothing they can do :(

My nylon ones all go through the wash at 40 about once a fortnight and come out looking like new. So yes I would expect it to look good. Have you an "after" pic?

I wouldn't expect cheap nylon headcollars to last long at all, I have several cheapies that are over a year old they look scruffy and faded now but still do the job! If you want a "special" smart headcollar that will last invest in quality leather is all I can say.

This is why i never buy anything personalised, they print stuff on any old rubbish usually so no i wouldnt expect it to last

To be fair to the company they dont know how it has been treated - it could have been left on during turnout in all weathers for all they know

I wouldn't expect a headcollar with padding to last nearly a year. The padding goes brittle.and cracks. I'd expect the webbing to stilll be sound but faded.
