Hi guys,

Some of you may remember me posting a while back about moving Abbey to my best friends yard as I was having truoble with a problem pony, but they also have a sand school which I dont have at the place im at now.

Well anyway I have now been offered to move before christmas

, well this weekend which I think would be a good idea as I finish work on friday and dont go back till the 2nd. So I would have a really nice long week to settle her in etc.

But I really dont know how to tell my current YO that im moving, shes so lovely and I dont want to upset her but obvioulsy I need to tell her tonight!

How would you say it????

I would just say you wanted to move to somewhere with a school - its perfectly reasonable - I'm sure she will be fine about it, she is running a business after all

Ditto PreNoviceEventer - honesty is always the best policy and YO, if reasonable, will fully understand.

Hope the move goes well

You know I'm really getting interested in my dressage, and the chance came up to move to a yard with a sand school and I knew if I turned it down I'd regret it... but thank you so much for supporting me this far and I'll let you know how I get on... with a nice Christmas present and a promise to recommend them should the opportunity arise.

I'm no longer at a yard as such - I just rent a block of four stables plus fantastic grazing from a local farmer. However, I left a local hunt yard not once, but twice! I left on both occasions an VERY good terms, and when I left the second time, the elderly owner said "Do come back at any time!"...and she meant it! So, leave on good terms, and you'll (hopefully) always be welcome back!
