I am so peed off today, been waiting weeks to go to Fearns farm dressage championships with my sexy welshie and I can't go.

Completely and uterly stuck at the yard due to horendous ice and snow. Can't even get the horses out of their stables let alone get the trailer down the ice rink of a hill. We're a mile up a hill and the gritters have only started doing main roads, we can't even get our 4x4 out without the very strong possibility of ending up in next doors front room!! Why does the bad weather always come when we have something important to do?

I'm going to sit here and sulk all day

What makes it worse is comp still going ahead, rang them earlier and they said roads are fine in Liverpool, probably only me that can't get there! Its a championship final he qualified for earlier in year so todays the day... gutted

Me too. Fed up hunting was cancelled yesterday and if the weather doesn't improve soon i doubt they will go on Tuesday. I live and keep my horse on a main road so can just about ride out, been this morning but had to ride in the middle of the road cos it was icy in the edge. Was very careful where I made him walk.

We were suppose to be going showjumping today but it was cancelled due to the Ice (no snow yet). I really hope it thaws by Xmas eve so they can go hunting

Oh how disappointing when it was something you'd qualified for

I am fed up too as can't get out for my SJ - though it was just an ordinary show I am still gutted! Especially wondering when I will next get my boy ridden. He was really fresh at dressage yesterday as it is. It'll be Wednesday before I get a chance to ride now so hope it has all thawed by then!

My daughter is really gutted, she got a new horse last Saturday and has only managed to ride it for 15 minutes in a soggy school earlier in the week, then the snow came and her lesson yesterday was cancelled as was todays show jumping competition. Pleased to say though that he has settled really well and is very easy to handle.

Its pants isn't it? I'm hoping it'll improve so I can get to Osbaldeston next week! Wouldn't hack round us as too much traffic to play dodge the ice patches - so no playing out at all for us
