Ok so have been round the farm ride lots but never the XC schooling area. So went up to today with sis, friend, and one other for a lesson with Linda. Well Pidge was an absolute star and jumped everything first time round bar the big step up to one stride to big step up as we wobbled on approach so only made the first step up but jumped it fine the next time round

I've finally got over my first fenceitus

So worked very hard on slowing the ginger beastie down and to my surprise it worked and we we only had one moment where he got a bit keen and we cantered sideways to a fence but that was at the very end so I let him off that one.
So with a bit more work on my dressage over the winter I think I'm going to aim him at the BE80T and probably the BE90 classes next year, what do you think?
Some more piccies from today

looking good! i definitely think you'll be fine BE if he's jumping stuff like the owl hole! did you see the scary fence i was talking about?!

Thanks do you think he looks ok? I was chuffed to bits to jump that first time round

with no problems.
Was that the one with a small fence with brush on, ditch and then big fence with brush on but jumped as one fence? If so OMG looked well scary

Sorry still grinning as he was so good, nothing fazes him bar me

So I have now perfected the "I'm thinking nothing" when going to a fence rather than the old "eep that looks big" which would result in a run out

he looks fab! what did your trainer say? (and yes i think thats the fence...its over near the water and the trakheners!)

LOL he was very pleased to have a play as I made him trot and canter through it, up and down steps and in and out over the roll top before he got chance to have a play, he was NOT impressed at having to wait that long as he adores playing in the water

God, you are easilt good enough for BE80(T). And BE90, and beyond if you enjoy it. He's looks so nice. I LOVE his name!

Thanks I do enjoy it very much, highly addictive

His name was Pidgeon when I bought him as he'd come over from Ireland with no name so they called him Pidgeon because of some white over his eye. As it's unlucky to change a horses name I got rid of the 'on'

It looks and sounds like you're both more than capable of BE. I love the pic of him playing in the water! What was the ground like at Somerford?
