I had the vet out tonight, she came to see Roo trot up, in order to give us bute for long term use. (we've already been down the surgery route and the steroid route and the resting it route)

She said I don't need bute and I can work her!!!!!! I NEVER thought I would be able to ride her!!!!! (shes been "retired" for the last year)

She says that Roo is 1/10ths lame on concrete, sound on grass. She said she wouldn't not ride her at that lameness, she said she'll not be able to do full work but that hacking will be fine

So after Ive been to camp, Ill start just doing 10/15 mins walking out a couple of times a week. I don't intend to work her too much, a couple times a week, build up to an hours walk, and on days when theres softer ground and a grass track I MIGHT trot a little bit :D She will so enjoy the change of scenery

That's good to hear. It's such a fantastic feeling when your retirees are able to do more than you dreamed possible - and they enjoy it so much:)
