Hello all, quite new here

Anyway, I have owned Dests since she was 22 months old. I had her broke in and took things really slowly. Last year as a five year old she went lame in her near fore. After a period of box rest she was still lame so vets took x-rays. They showed that she had sesamoiditis but also they showed the very beginnings of DJD in her coffin joint. Obviously I was devastated as she was so young. She had a course of Cartrophen injections and we put natural balance shoes on her.

After three months she was sound but a little bit pottery after a flexion test. The vets said I could start riding again but take things slowly which I have been. She had another injection four weeks ago, she is to have them every six months. Anyway, the vet came to see her today, flexion tested her again and did loads of checks and she is completely sound!
Know that I will always have to be careful with her but I love her to bits and just so happy that we have hopefully slowed the DJD down. Hopefully now I can get her schooling going and we may one day manage to get to a show.
