Really hope I've got it right this time...

I think the hope for her is 'Not to hit the ground running' by the sounds of previous horse! I agree with you he looks super and very chilled.

Haha, to be fair I only ever came off Charlie once (which was my fault entirely) - we just weren't suited. Neither of us had quite enough confidence to lend some to the other!

First lesson this evening, only arranged last night. I wasn't expecting it to be quite so soon but my instructor is free so why not. I was going to give him a day off today. I'll be struggling to catch him if he doesn't have a rest soon the poor sod!

I'm still beaming. My instructor used to teach me at pony club as a kid and then started helping me with Charlie when I needed someone really kind and quiet. She said last night it's the happiest she's seen me on a horse since I was 14! (Although to be fair she never taught me on Arch and Mont). I'm dying today though. I haven't had a private lesson for at least 6 months and forget what it's like not to have a break while someone else is doing something! My legs are killing me.

When Wiggy arrived, he had a little spur mark on one side. Even though I didn't wear spurs last night, the scab rubbed off and it looks quite red and sore. I've never dealt with them before - any tips? It's plastered in filtabac today to keep the flies away but any advice on helping it heal and not happen again would be gratefully received.
