I phoned the D&H helpline as am looking to change feeds for my lot, trying to save some pennies! The girl on the phone went through each of my horses individually and then came up with a diet for each of them that gave them everything they need - consensus was Sure Grow for the vits and mins and then fibre cubes or conditioning cubes depending on their individual weights, plus ad lib hay/haylage. This fits in with my high fibre low cereal ethos.

Have just received a huge parcel from them with loads of samples and a money off voucher - am really impressed - have to say I love the smell of the Sixteen Plus cubes and the old girl seemed to like them too!

Does anyone use Sure Grow and, if so, how did you find it? Also, anyone use Sixteen Plus Cubes?

I feed 16 + mix, three handfuls morning and night to my 19yo TB. She likes it, and it seems to suit her.
Beware feed company rations - it's not unknown for them to want you to feed a lot. An awful lot. You would almost think they had some ulterior, selling motive.

I got talking to a rep at a stand when my feed merchant had an open day a little while ago, and she asked what feed balancer I used. I said Top Spec and she asked if I would like to try a sample of theirs. Yes please I said, expecting a small crisp sized packet. So she took my address, and the next thing I know, a huge box arrives by courier with 2 months' supply of feed balancer - 30 sample sized packets!

I know what you mean! However, the cubes would only be for extra fibre or calories so would be feeding a fairly low quantity, the Sure Grow would take care of all the vits and mins and that is fed just like any other balancer - should save me oodles of money as am paying £30+ for my current balancer and this one is about a third of the price

. Have checked out the vit/min spec and it seems fine for my lot, so as long as they all look as good as they currently do, then I will be mega happy!

How did you find it - am currently using Top Spec myself - did your horse still look as good?

I used it on 2 horses and they look very good, nice coat, and one mare who has been on a bit of a diet over the winter as she is going to stud shortly has lost weight successfully, so it probably isn't excessively calorific, though I don't know if a short trial would be much of an indication tbh.

The other horse has had very slow hoof growth recently and deteriorating horn around the nail holes, so I am now feeding Formula4Feet instead as I really need a boost to the growth rate.

In answer to your question, I don't know that it's better or worse than Top Spec even after using it for a while, but I am happy with their overall condition.
