really messy horse stable

after one night in a clean stable i cant spot any clean in her stable i dont have matting but should be getting some next week. i used to have straw but i was putting new bale in everyday so moved to rape straw which looks simular to shavings and its still just asbad any one got any suggestions?
 
My boy was a lot like this absolute nightmare!

I got him some rubber matting make some pretty hefty banks and then sprinkle enough shavings just to absorb wet. All I have to do now is sweep out bed and replace with banks. A bale lasts me a fortnight and he's still happy to lie down or have a role and I can muck out in 5mins.
 
I give up with mine a longgg time ago lol he is so messy! I just bed him on rubber matting and a thin layer of wood chip enough to soak up the wet and keep him dry. Then just get it all out everyday and put a fresh layer down. He has a massive stable but still thinks its fun to churn it all up. Only does this when dinner or breakfast is imminent! I would keep him out but unfortunately we don't have the land :-/
 
i think she is eating some of it but most of it just shows how much she wees inside as when i completly clear it out and put new in its wet by the morning. would be easier to keep her out but thatsnot a option.. i have tryed making big banks but she pulls them down! was thinking to do a small bed and add a little more on each day
 
Small beds dirty horse, rather go for semi deep litter once it is settled it will be easy to just skip out the poos, equinolla is also great for deep littering. Deep littering is not dirty if done correctly.
 
I have one extremely dirty mare and I have finally found a solution. I deep deep litter straw, it's super high and covers my entire v large stable. I find that it takes me 5 minutes and half a barrow to muck out and then once a week I add a few sections of straw. Then once a month I dig it all up and take out the wet. However I now won't be doing this as this unsettles the bed and she is then messy. Basically I'm leaving the wet in at the bottom. It offers a stable surface, warmth, does NOT smell and she is super happy. I have now put all 3 on these beds and can muck out and do all jobs in 45 minutes instead of 2 hrs!!! Super cheap too.

Ps: I'm a bit of a stable perfectionist and like them to be spotless clean and perfect and I'm much happier with straw than any other bed.
