well it arrived about 10 mins ago and im really really pi$$ed off.

The rug is a mess It has about 3 holes the size of a 20p on the back and the stitching on the tail flap is coming off and on the front of it there is like beige(sp?) coloured glue a few dollops the size of a 10p at the front.

really miffed as it cost me £58 i know it was a bargain but i saved for it.

will i email her to say?

I'd definately email for a refund or reduction - didn't she tell you there was one hole? More than that clearly. Not as advertised. I'd be peeved too.

she did email me saying that there was a hole in the inside of the neck cover and did i still want it as she didnt notice the hole until she was packing it up. I said i would still have it but she didnt mention the other mess.

do you think it would be rude to email her and just mention the hole's in the rug?

I will no doubt have to send it off to be reproofed and the holes repaired and it will cost me around £15.

What did the ad say ? If she only mentioned the one hole then I would email her the pics of the other holes and ask her for a refund but that is if she hasn't stated in her listings that she does not except refunds .

If she will not refund you then I would contact ebay .

£58 is quite abit of money when there is several holes in it

does this sound ok

dear ********

I received the rug today but i have to say im very disappointed. Yes i know it is a used rug and yes you did email me to say about the hole in the neck. But what about the other holes on the back of the rug also the stitching in the tail flap and the rubbery stuff on the front of the chest? Also doesn't feel very waterproof. None of the other stuff was mentioned in your listing.

email and ask for a refund of cost of repair. if she doesn't agree then go through ebay as a' not as described' complaint.
i expect she'd rather give back 15 pounds than have the rug sent back to her

Ask for a refund. I sell second hand horse tack, and any equestrian items on ebay. I give full descriptions, you just have to be honest. My attitude is that if I wouldn't use it myself then I won't sell it. I've got boxes of tack, rugs etc... that I just won't sell as I have responsibility. Riding is a dangerous activity and there is no way I will sell anything substandard to anyone, whether its a rug, girth, bridle etc....

I offer returns and refunds on all my items and most ebay seller shsould do the same. I occasionally get good quality rugs, what do you need

Take some photo's and let's have a look.

It may not be as bad as you think. Is the body of the rug ok, and the general wearability??

I have an out door rug for my cob jae but for some reason the tail flap blows up in the wind and the rug blows half way up his back it has leg straps but they are elasticated. I think it is a shire rug or something.

so just something that will keep him cosy and dry pref with a neck.

Can you pm me your ebay name so i can have a look at your stuff as im always on the look out as have tight budget so 2nd hand is best for me.

id definitely complain. Im sorry but i dont believe her that she only noticed the tear when she packaged it up. she took the pics for the advert so wouldve noticed them at that point.
get your money back, and fingerrs crossed youll find a proper bargain on ebay.

From the photos on the listing the "glue" marks are clearly visible, as are a couple of holes. FYI if you enlarge the photo's on the listing you can then make them bigger again by pressing Ctrl and rolling the wheel on your mouse.

Ask her for a partial refund to cover the cost of repairs by email and if she won't play ball go through the dispute resolution with PayPal and ask for a partial refund there.

The advert states fully repaired and I think if you had taken it in recently to be repaired and reproofed then the holes would have been mentionned. I would email her, if you dont get a reply within 3 days then put a complaint through ebay. That is an awful lot of money for a second hand rug with holes in it! I just bought several new masta and GFS rugs for like £20 each - the ebay member needs to refund you some money for repairs i think to be fair to you.

pics of rug

really sorry for the overload but dont know how to re size them.

got to carry on with what i said before - the seller had to have seen these when she originally took the pics for the advert - complain and get your money back. think it will cost a bit to repaor those to be honest

This happenned to me also with a Rambo rug a couple of years ago. It came and it was terrible, seller wouldnt reply to my emails so I decided to take it up with Ebay and gave up in the end as they wanted £15 to lodge a complaint, which I decided to pay and they just never got back to me. It went on for weeks. Things may have changed now but in the end I re sold it on Ebay with a very honest discription of how it actually was. I didnt lose too much money on it either. Its difficult as by the time youve paid postage to send it back, it makes it even more expensive.
I would definately contact the seller, maybe even send her the pics you have taken. They should really refund you money as it isnt as discribed.
Good luck

I would tell her about the holes! Say you are not happy. She should have described the rug in exact detail. You have spent a lot of money, so you should be happy. if you want a refund you are entitled to one, if you want it but are just not happy, then say so. It annoys me when people fail to "notice" holes!!

You have spoken to her, wait for her response, if it so happens that you need to open a dispute I think you might have a favourable outcome judging by the amount of damage that hasn't been listed.

I'd rather have my money back and buy a new rug even if it wasn't a Rambo

Same here, i cannot afford and do not buy branded rugs, I have one branded rug and the quality is no different to my unbranded. Its alot of money for a second hand rug, i would demand my money back, after reading your post at the time i would be furious, you put your trust in her. I tend to buy top quality unbranded rugs for less than 20pounds with 12pounds postage, they are brand new and fantastic quality, just a thought to help put more perspective on this...

I would ask for your money back, including postage for sending the rug back. I would do it through ebay though and get proof of posting tomake sure you get your money back. You can definitely get it back through ebay/paypal if youpaid through paypal. PM me if you need any help as i have had a few items over the years that are definitely NOT as described.

I'd be bloomin furious - having now seen the photos. I agree with those that have said ask for a refund.

I've sold loads of rugs on Ebay, and wouldn't dream of sellin one in that condition (let alone not pointing out the extent of the defects).
