Self indulgent and a bit daft really but...as I mentioned in a previous post, I have been unable to ride for 5 weeks now with a back problem but today my OH came out with me for morale support and I walked my boy out in hand along the lanes for a couple of miles. He was so good considering he has not been out for so long and was getting bored silly in his field. I am so pleased with him and looking forward to perhaps doing this every other day (back permitting) until I can hopefully ride again...soon!

Glad you both enjoyed it. I'm sure it will do both of you good. What has happened to your back, I've missed the previous post.

Not sure really what brought it on...I have had problems in the past with it so I guess it is weak. But it has been excruciating but am on painkillers from doctor now which is helping no end...I just want it better so I can ride again! But it has to be 100% right as I won't risk messing it up again by rushing into things...my horse is a native so been getting a bit desparate to keep his weight down...hence the walking out idea!

Good for you! I did quite a bit of walking out in hand before I took Bodey out hacking and I really enjoyed it, you certainly feel like you have done more then you do when you ride!

I hope you get better soon. Your right not to rush it though. I'm sure that is what has damaged my back beyond repair.
