Took sophie out on her own today ,which is a miracle in its self. She is a bit of a bag to load but went in first time.My daughter who has to be the most nervous kid on the planet was riding her and she has only jumped the odd fence on her at home and soph hasn't jumped a course in the 18 months thats i've had her.The show was for very novice and absolutely perfect for there first time out together.
There was an arab there who was messing about a bit and kept broncing towards soph which upset her a bit and she played up a little which set taylor off! Anyway we went into the clear round without having gone over a practice fence. They were only x poles at floor level so taylor just walked over most of them, she did trot over a couple. Then they went up to 1ft and soph knew what she was doing by then but taylor was still not letting her go forward enough but they got over the fences and soph was a diamond. In the jump off Taylors confidence was growing by the minute and she actually cantered most of the jump off! she came 4th.So all in all a pleasant experience for both horse and rider.
