So some of you will have seen me posting on confidence threads a good bit, have a youngster - have a bit of a mental block when it comes to jumping so decided to get some lessons on an older more experienced horse this morning to see if that would help! Did it what - Was jumping uprights & combinations up to 1metre by end of it.
After today I think if we push through the mental barrier rather give in we have nothing to lose & to give it a shot & see what happens.
Chuffed to bits with myself - was super anxious for first 10 mins but as soon as I relaxed & was fine - first time in 10 years doing that much jumping....:D

Good for you! :D

And good luck with jumping your youngster, in my experience with one just lots of patience (with yourself and horse) and small steps makes all the difference :)

Well done! This is exactly what I need to do. I have managed to avoid jumping for years but I'd like to get over it (literally!) and face the fear. Doesn't help when I have loose schooled my boy over jumps and he makes huge leaps over fairly small fences, gulp! I used to be able to use his age as an excuse but doesn't really work anymore! I will take inspiration from you and sort it out ....soon!
