Right so I need a saddle cloth and want the Nuumed saddle cloth however the website only list the high wither one. So my mare isnt necessarily high withered and I want to use a Stephens half sheepskin pad in between the saddle cloth and the sheep skin pad.

Will this work or do you think the saddle cloth will pucker up as it is high withered?

Should be fine - I always get high withered even if my horses arent high withered think they sit better

always use hogh withered even though horse isn't never had a problem using half pad too BUT can never get Numed numnahs/saddle cloths not to slip so buy Mattes or Eskadron instead now
 
My mare is not high-withered either, but I use a Nuumed Highwither on her as recommended by my saddler. Have had no problems with it whatsoever and have now got one for daughter's pony too, who has hardly any wither at all!

Miller - interesting you say yours slips, this is the whole reason I am trying to find something else to replace my PolyPad. Gah horses!

Thats promising then, thank you. I am just really fussy, I dont want anything with trims on, no velvet, no binding and these seem nice and plain. I also want it in black too!

I use nothing but high whither on my jump saddle as it is the only one that doesnt slip back, washes beautifullty and sits nice and high in the gullet (is a CC saddle) HAve also used one under a dressage saddle with a half pad, and was fine. Depends on the cut of the half pad, but I cant fault the high whither clothes.

I have a high withered numnah and its lush. Use it on snoop who doesnt have high withers at all but fits really nicely

feel that the numnah doesnt get pulled down over the wither causing discomfort.
 
Thanks guys for all your help! I just want something that will tuck right up the gullet of the saddle.

BBs do you use one of those Gel Pad whotsits? Do you think it would be better than a half sheepskin pad?

Gel things, what the Gel Eze and the Gelfish?
Yes use both of these on Winston, and snoop occasionally, but mainly use the half sheepskin on snoop wtih a numnah/pad underneath.

What reasons are you buying it for?

I use the Gel pads due to winstons bad skin ie hes allergic to pressure on his back and he comes out in lumps - hence why he wears the gel pad.
The sheepskin was bought to look the part

sjing lol but in all honsty i use it only on snoopy to help winstons saddle fit snoop better, although funny enough it fits him pretty damn well

I dont like using too much under a saddle as IMHO a saddle should fit without any fancy stuff underneath. However, Im not in a position to buy snoop a saddle as well lol so they have to share lol

And I really want a Stephens Half Sheepskin pad lol
