OK so i thought things couldn't get any badder at the yard and i was wrong!

put Benson to bed last night in his stable on the agreement that other horse was kept in until i could get up there at 10.30 that was fine massive banked bed and 2 hay nets stable rug and off i went!

At 10.30 i arrived on yard to find bottom gate closed (never closed) Drove up and noticed my horse out grazing in his stable rug so u can imagine how annoyed i was.(girl had turned her horse out) know its not her fault but common sense to turn other out!

Girl on yard (another one) said she caught him galloping down road so threw him in field quick as she was riding her horse

i went up to his stable to get his head collar to notice hes burst his stable door and there was skin on it! Ive ran to grab him and noticed he was lame on his back left inspected him to find hes not barged his stable door hes jumped over the bloody thing!

vet was called she sedated him cleaned it tried to staple it but he was to busy with sedation and a twitch trying to kick her in the head! hes cut his left back leg and his sheath, also taken skin off his chest and withers and right hand side Ive been given antibiotics , bute. cream and hes now on 8 weeks or more box rest in another stable with grills over it so he cant hop out!

so now I'm stuck on yard for 8 weeks in someone else's stable who will eventually need it back

Oh no, that is truly rubbish for you, im so sorry, what an absolute nightmare!! Healing vibes for your pony and coping vibes for you!

OMG!!!!

Poor you!!!! you are lucky he could of done so much more damage to him self.

If i was at a yard and i knew that if when i put my horse out it would only leave one i think i would of asked the owner if it was ok to put it out if i knew it was going to go bananas.

God i really feel for you hun!!!

Mega hugs and {{{{{{{{{{{{vibes}}}}}}}}}}

, my beast has jumped his door twice, I now have a barracade I made to stop him doing it, I was lucky there were no bad injuries like yours, 8 weeks box rest, what a nightmare

ive been stuck on a yard for the last few months full of people that r complete idiots + as a result my horse has been injured!! i hope 4 ur boys sake he heals quickly + the people on ur yard start usin more common sense!!!

poor boy, i'd be livid. unfortunately people really can be incredibly ****ing stupid and sometimes unable to follow very simple polite requests that they've agreed to. nothing surprises me any more.

if it was the YO who agreed to keep another horse in till 10.30, i think i'd tell them i expect them to contribute generously to a vet's bill which was necessitated only by their failure to do what they had agreed to when you made a clear request.

hope he heals v quickly. big vibes.

What a nasty thing to have happened, poor lad.

I'm not clear on why he needs box rest - but your vet obviously knows best.

So have you go to the bottom of what actually happened? And who will look after him if you go away?

That looks sore, poor boy. I thank my lucky stars that the girls I share a yard with have more good horse sense than that. My horse is a bit of a stress head if left alone and they never, ever put him in that situation, if theres come in, so does he, if they go out, ditto. It doesn't always suit me but at the end of the day his welfare is paramount and I would rather find him in one piece and relaxed than wound up and injured. I suppose you should at least be thankfull someone saw him before he did even more damage to himself and stopped him getting on to the roads.
