Does anyone know of such a thing? I'm a real purist so prefer to wear tweed for lower levels, but even my lightweight one yesterday had me boiling... (mind you, dressage on an i-wanna-be-a-mickey-taker will do that too). So, do I ditch the purism and wear my very lightweight navy jacket, if I can't find a tweed that keeps me cool? I wonder if anyone does a jacket that looks tweed but is actually printed lightweight fabric rather than wool, or is that heresy?
Suggestions please, other than ice-sleeves... might resort to that!

Someone posted yesterday looking for something similar due to wool allergy, there may be a gap in the market, tweed printed cotton or linen mix could work.

If they can produce such light navy ones it must be possible but I have never seen one.

Musto did a 'technical tweed' which is fairly light and stretchy not the most lovely of tweed colourings but good for hot or indeed raining weather. I have one, which appears to have shrunk so I haven't actually worn it much.....!

Echo Rach, I have a Shires jacket and it's very thin material- I am prone to boiling in the coldest weather (nerves make me feel what are almost like hot flushes? Too young for all that!) and the Shires jacket doesn't contribute to that.

Not sure if it is 'proper' tweed- it's very fine material and thin...

I've a really, really light and thin Equiport tweed jacket. It's literally only a skin with a lovely cool lining. Style is ladies Dutch, cloth is CMT green tweed. it is 100% wool and dry clean only though.

that looks perfect. How generously do they size though please... I don't want one that looks huge on me (although at that price I could have the waist brought in I think...) am size 10-12 on top, wide shoulders, skinnyish waist, so can't stand things that hang off me! Thankyou.

I am a size 10ish and went for the 34", it fits beautifully :) I am quite broad but small waist too :)

I have tagged you in a photo on FB, it may show you my shape so you can get an idea, there are a few pics but I have not tagged you in more than one :p

When I was searching the Tagg saville I think it's called it was very lightweight - I got the caldene silverdale but thats 100% wool so quite warm!

A lot of people (including me) wear the Pikeur Epsom or Diana in beige or chocolate brown in hot weather. Not tweed but not navy/black either so a little more 'correct'.

Yep, me too, the beige I've got is quite greeny so looks like a tweed. The fit is good too as I'm broad-shouldered yet the waist still fits well. Some of the cheaper makes are very boxy and sack-like. They're washable too which is a bonus when your pony has snotted all over you. :o You can see it here:
