To say I am chuffed would be an understatement :D

The big ginger gobshite and I have just got back from our night time romp round the lakes in the pitch black (this is how we like it- very few others there- nice relaxing longline walk).

We had not one but 2 dogs approach us, which we greeted beautiful :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Ok so I guess technically it is wrong to allow your dog to approach an on lead dog (he was on a short lead at the time) but actually Dex desperately needs this sort of interaction- him controlled- other friendly dogs able to get away if he gets a bit shouty OTT.- the main point of this is he didnt shout at them, so they could actually approach- usually we he has wound himself up into such a state on sight of a dog that by the time they are ten feet away he is lunging/screaming- hence any savvy dog just goes the other way!!

The first was a terrier- ok approach could have been slower (owners recall slightly less panicked!!) but they had a quick sniff then off we went.
Second was a collie who approached beautifully (with ball in mouth) had a few mins sniff of Dex and off we went again- collies owner just looked up and smiled, carried on walking. :D
Chuffed with the ginger lump-----:o:eek:

Lexie I am so pleased for you and the ginger one, what progress, from little acorns and all that. I dont actually see it as a small victory but a major one and a lightbulb moment for Dex.

Keep it up and if you could arrange the same scenario on a regular basis wouldnt that be something.:)

Awww well done. That's a good victory.

My tiny one was crate training. The two girls do not settle, there completely ignored but cracked it two nights ago. I sit and tell them a story. Only takes a few minutes and there our Luke a light. Shrek is there favourite.
