I’ve bought my highland a half-moon/crescent girth (I’ve been riding him in Gypsum’s girth, which is a bit too long). I have no idea which way it’s meant to face when on the horse, and there are no labels on it indicating this.

Anyone….Bueller….anyone?

I've recently posted a thread about these as they are confusing me too!
Initially I thought that if you were to put the girth on from the left, it would hang down as a backwards C so then when it is done up, it is curving towards the saddle but now I'm not sure if when you buckle it on from the left that it should hang just as a regular C shape with the points facing the front!
What one did you get if you don't mind me asking?

A fluffy one. One of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Merauno-Sh...d=1&keywords=moon+girth&qid=1628198675&sr=8-7

I kind of want to keep it as a cuddly toy, because it's so soft, huggable, and nice, but I am also aware that's totally insane.

The point of the curve needs to points towards the front of the horse so that the girth curves away from the elbows

So if you were to buckle it up from the left and let it hang, will it be in the shape of a C so the shaped side of this girth is facing the back and the flat curved side is facing the front? Or the other way round so the "hump" on the inside of the C shape is facing the front?

Hocks C Elbows

Without having one to do a pic that's the best I can do
So the D in the photo is pointing to the front of the horse

Ah okay! So the hump on the inside of C does face the front! Thank you, I thought it was Elbows C Hocks as in my mind, it would curve towards the saddle.

Sorry CI for hijacking lol!
