Talking to a friend earlier along the lines of tacking up and bridle lines etc, anyway having discussed getting ears into the bridle it just made me wonder about bridling a donkey? Do you squish the ears through or do you undo the cheek piece and put it on that way as it would be more comfortable?

Told you it was stupid!

Not stupid at all, and very kind of you to think about it (many people do not). Unless the donkey has had rough treatment and is wary of having his ears touched, then they can be bridled like a horse, with due care of the aforementioned.

I've never had to bridle a donkey but I used to bridle a hinny. I used to fold his ears in half. I suppose it's easier if you train the animal to put its ears forward. I think many people buy bridles that open easily at the side, though, so ask the Donkey Breed Society what they recommend.
