This is not for me but I am on the hunt for a really top-class dressage trainer - the kind that can take you apart and put you back to pieces, thereby improving your dressage by 10 marks!

A friend would like to go for a month over the winter with 4-5 horses and be absolutely boot-camped all day, every day. Location not important. Rider doesn't mind harsh as long as they get results.

Currently, the list includes Richard Davison, Ruth McMullen and Jennie Loriston-Clarke.

Any other thoughts?

David and Serena Pincus. Amazing for boot camp and improving RIDER, as well as horse.

Emile Faurie.

But if she would take you, the very best in this country has got to be Kyra Kyrklund, hands down.

If your friend needs to be completely rebuilt, then I would second Kyra Kyrklund, but failing to get in with her, one of her regular pupils would be a good substitute.

Maybe Sarah Millis? She's trained with Kyra for years, is an exceptional rider from what I've seen, and her pupils are quite successful. Might be worth a try.

Not a 'name' but Sam Twyman at Dovecote Stables has done exactly this for me. Before training with him I was averaging 38-42, since training with him I have been averaging 29-33 - same horse, different system and he has schoolmasters to ride too which has helped me no end. Can't recommend him enough really. Likely to be more affordable than other options, though I am guessing with the ask phrased as it was, money is no object!!

Anna Ross Davies would be fantastic but she doesn't own her own yard so not sure if it would work. Possibly if spaces can be found. Worth an ask and she has trained with KK.
