Really upset and after some advice

If you're happy, what does it matter that there are b1tchy people at your yard?
I do get quite a bit of advice (undesired

) from people regarding my two youngsters....which I have always studiously ignored.
It's just as well that I'm one of those 'lucky' owners whose youngsters don't bite, kick, strike, can be easily caught, can be rugged/unrugged, sprayed, vet treated, washed, have their feet trimmed, all in the field.....just luck....

Thank you all for your kind comments.
I guess the issue is really that i have nothing to compare him to.
Most of the other horses on the yard are much much older and are already established. My instructor has young horses but they're showjumpers bred for purpose and broken quite young and quickly. They're also nutty as fruit cakes (she is a good rider though).
I've never had a young horse before so i don't know whats normal and whats not. Hubby is concerned that he is unbalanced and his paces aren't consistant but neither of us know what he should be capable of at his age and for his breed. If I compare him to my instructors horses he seems quite behind but he's a totally different breed and was broken later and brought on much more slowly so its hard to compare the two.

One of mine is probably comparable to yours - a 16.3ish Shire x TB who will be 4 in July.
She's not even broken yet....nor will she be until she finishes her current bout of teething (she has some ulcers from the sharp bits as the baby teeth grow out), and levels up a bit as she's really croup high at the moment.

in fact do you want to come and sort mine out for me?!
you sound like you're doing a smashing job and at 5 he is still growing and as a big beastie will probably find balance harder...but who cares!
enjoy your horse
ignore the bitc*y people, they're probably jealous

Sorry, meant to respond to this yesterday - but was just soo busy.

I always think you sound as if your doing a wonderful job with your horse.

Ignore those that obviously no no difference, and carry on with what you're doing.

Aren't people just awful??
