Has anyone had a wonky horse that’s straightened up, once the lameness has been sorted?

My mare is a tenth lame on her RH ridden on a circle. Sound after flexions, but having a chip on her RH hock removed next week.

She always tried to move with her head/neck looking to the left (thought it was a baby thing/my riding) but I notice it more now. Equally, she hates bending right to any degree while moving but bends well for carrot stretches.

Long lined last week in straight lines and I can see it so obviously from the ground so come to the conclusion it’s not me, and she’s doing it for a reason. She’s off work now.

Not positive to neurological testing.

Just really hope it’s related to the hind leg but won’t know until after rehabilitation. If not, I guess it could be an issue elsewhere. 😣

Horses.. eh!

There is a saying that 'lameness leads to lameness' ie a horse that is moving wonkily puts stress and strain on other parts of the body, which then deteriorate.

Good luck for the hock chip removal. Then after that's sorted get a really good body worker on her. She might need multiple appointments. I would use a chiro vet - I have a brilliant one, but whoever you use must be really good at their job.

Good luck.
