So following my post the other day (for anyone who saw it) about my 1 year old westie being spayed (or not in her case

)
She is off again tomorrow to try again, on the understanding that she has the other type of pre med that will practically knock her out

and I am going to stay with her too, unless it makes her worse in which case il leave..as she was petrified last time and they wouldnt do it she got herself into such a state

So tomorrow at 10 off we toddle for another go

I know it seems tough but it is important that you are really calm too, speak really low and slowly, because she will pick up on any nervousness you might have.
Even tonight, be as calm and collected as you can - they are like sponges with our moods and the cooler you are, the cooler she will be.

Good luck!

Haha well physically yes but its not pretty

Trouble is no matter what I do she backs away from the door and tries to climb out the window in the waiting room

Nothing I can do really, they know what happened last time so should be prepared

Leave her in the car until they are ready for her and then straight into the consultancy room. Ask the vet to make a fuss of her and lots of happy silly talk. Then big cuddles as the pre med takes effect.
If they will let you be there when she wakes up, difficult I know. then that will help her as well. Good luck to both of you

Thanks everyone

I have to go to work straight after I take her in, so mum will be picking her up whenever she is ready

I shall just go in and say right quick do it!! before she has a chance to panic

Hopefully all will go ok, if not I guess we just give up

I agree about leaving her in the car. The vet should be happy to come out to the car to give her the pre med and hopefully she will be more relaxed. Fingers crossed it all goes well this time.

Took my puppydog in today and she cried for me as I left it was horrnedous! So we ended up playing catch with the nurse for a bit until she thought the vets was fun again.

Good luck! Going to get her at 7pm, I'm nervous! xxx
