WELLL!! I have a mare who suffers from sweet itch rather badly. This year I turned her out in a Boett rug and trying a new treatment Cavellesse, which seemed to work for awhile, silly me didn't realise I had to keep up the Cavellesse, so she went through 3 rugs and facemask, thinking I was doing her some good, bye letting her be out 24hours 7 days a week, all rugged up top to toe. Had to bring her in August, she's happy now as she can come and go into her stable as she pleases, but this is the worse I've every seen her sweet itch mostly face and legs, so next year she is back on the old regime, which she is happiest with and I won't have a mare with a bald head with sores and before anyone says about putting creams on her, I don't want to die just yet.
