Mare went into vets today she has it in her fetlock on 1 leg think am going to try cortazone 1st to settle it.. hopeing I might still be able to compete her? am totally gutted tbh she's only 9 loves her jumping and my horse of a lifetime.. vet coming out later on this week in which will ask loads of questions but wondering if theres any of you with success storys of horses that have carried on showjumping.. know she can't be fixed just patched up feel hopeless just want someone to wave a magic wand and make it better please :(
 
I don't know if this helps, but my yearling colt had surgery in this hock for OCD. He was never lame before the surgery or after. It was the swelling in the hock that alerted me to investigate the condition. Post surgery, it took over 4 months for the swelling to go down. I'm very satisfied with the results.

thanks hun will talk to vet about surgery also.. Whats the long term prognosis? (again will talk in detail to vet anyways) do you know if it's better if they are younger and it's diagnosed? unlike Clover who's 9 now know it's been a problem since a foal and been underlying waiting to bite me in the arse!! problem showed at Pyecombe tempory box temprimental mare had a go at other horses and kicked the crap out of her box.. lame.. came sound.. early august initial problem at stay away show.. then thursday went out in feild galloping and bucking lame again.. did think something was underlying as same leg etc but was hoping something that could be fixed you know suspensory time off problem fixed but seems from the info off the net ive got isn't good :( just patch up!! am really devistated!!
this is her the day before she decided to trash her stable at pyecombe in the discovery..
