We are building our own 7.5t lorry. For anyone interested the fb page is gordon's self build horsebox - search results | Facebook At the moment we have an old daf with side facing seats and chuck the kids ( teenagers) and dogs in the back. It is old enough to be legal travelling like that. The new one has 3 seats in the front, but we still need to travel with the 4 of us and occasionally a friend. Does anyone have a 7.5 horsebox with rear travelling seats? I haven't seen any in pictures or anywhere. Ideally we would have a 'L' shape or 'C' shape seating arrangement and the belts would be on the rear facing ( behind driver) and the front facing ( behind the bathroom) seats, with the long sofa portion being for the dogs. If any one has any pics or has done this I would be very grateful. Thanks

Farmer chalk did exactly the same thing in 2015, in the search forums box at the top of the page put " horsebox build ..... our story! " it's long with lots of photos . I've just had a look back and h&h have removed photos due to it being an old thread, but there are some photos on page 18. But loads of info if you spare an hour to read it.

Lots of ideas from the motorhome manufacturers.

We have two forward facing belted seats backing on to the washroom, and two rear facing belted seats backing on to the driver's seat in our 6 berth motorhome.

ETA The dog travels clipped to her harness on a bungee via the seat belt clip on the rearward facing seats. A good safe place for her.
