rearing horse help!

hi ive recently started having trouble with my six year old tb cross during jumping, in the past she has loved jumping she would jump the size of a house for you and she espeially loves xc, however recently more outdoors than indoors, when i turn to the jump she just seems to stop and rear right up, if your confident enough to push her on she will happily jump the jump still, however i am slightly starting to loose my confidence as last week she unseated me due to a very high rear, im wondering if this is just over exitement or something more, any help apreciated

Seems to be the season for rearing, so many threads recently on it. I've one who rears also and am at a loss so will watch with interest to see if anyone comes up with new ideas x
 
Nearly always a nap, ie resistance to what you are asking,
Occasionally due to nipping withers at the front of the saddle obviously this has to be checked first.
It soon becomes a very scary thing for the average rider, and that is transmitted to the horse, so it all escalates pretty rapidly.

Stop jumping her, she may not find it as much fun as you think. Take a break for several weeks, and go back to ground work, try "101 jumping exercises for horses" by Allen and Dennis, 25 of the exercises are flat work, and all the rest are about learning how to train your horse, it is just too tempting to stay in a rut, but not a good idea in the long run.
