It really is about time that we got a new trailer and I have a bit of a wish for a backward facing one. They are definately more expensive but I would be willing to spend the money in their best interests.

But which one?

The Rice Equipoise? Has anyone actually used one of these? Have seen two or three newish secondhand for about 5k. And I think Richardson do one too.

Or the Equitrek sport i think. The smaller one anyway around 5k new. Is the build quality as bad as you hear? Anyone have one and love/hate it?

These are the options that i know about, any others?

Thanks

The french make Fautras have some models where the horses travel sideways, like in a lorry, which lots of horses like too. It is the same as being inside a little lorry!

I know some people who have one (after a nasty experience with a breast bar in their previous trailer). I thought it looked a bit big and heavy, but they have a Discovery. I saw lots in France whizzing up and down the motorways.

The only thing my friends have found is that the front ramp is rather heavy to lift, as it doesn't have an assister and the mother is quite a small lady. But overall they like it.

i have an equitrek space treka L. i love mine. everything travels well in it. there is heaps of headroom. you can change the partition to suit the horse.
you should find your local dealer and go and have a look at one. the only problem with them is when you add all the extras on they cost more than you first thought!

Thanks orange horse, Will have a look at the Fautras site. I believe Will have a think about herringbone, wonder if they are very wide. hmmm.

Great to hear from someone with personal experience wildpony. Unfortunately Ireland doesn't have a dealer! But i'm in Engalnd a few days a week so may get a chance to have a look soon, or will make it my business to! How do you find the build quality? Agree about the extras too. Oh and what do you tow with. Thanks
