Reasons not to buy another!

Ok have one one loan he's cheap to do etc.

Seen an advert for 14h highland x welsh 3yrs (more highland than welsh) been broken but green easy to do on ground etc. I'm 5'1" so size not an issue. Thinking of continuing its education till winter, turn him away and bring back in next year to begin proper work with the intentions of possible showing/ low level competing (daughter can jump him ) and general all-round fun. i can't think of any reasons not to go see other than my OH will kill me if I get another..

Sooo.. Give me reasons why I should not get him.. Lol
 
My OH was going to kill me if I got another one. She arrived on Saturday and I'm still alive ;) He's been down twice to check on her in the field when I've worked a bit late!
 
Well to be fair OH is rarely on the yard... My heart is screaming go see... I love highlands used to work for a breeder they are my favourite breed... Generally cheap to look after... So loyal and versatile... Arrgggg
 
What would OH's objections be? - more time from you? more money? lack of space? If you can sucessfully explain why he's no reason to be concerned -= be worth going to have a look!
 
I think the main issues are time away from home... However doing an extra one makes no difference as daughter can do current one and I can do new one so no difference in time spent at yard ;)
 
What a switch. I'm always the one telling hubby NO MORE! We have 5 for cripe's sake. So whenever he flirts with getting another one "to sell and bring on" I agree if I can get certain new things for the ones we have already. And the well you're not taking any out of the one's we already have mouths, so to speak.

I probably wouldn't care so much if most of the effort wasn't on my part but we also have client ponies too. So he's always like well I'm to big for ponies. So as soon as he's done groundwork and starting I do everything. Another horse. No thank you!

I love having the three but other than the financial implications, if something happens in your life (family crisis sort of thing) ppl seem a lot more reluctant to look after three! Anyway, life is too short... If you want it, and can afford it, then go get him x
 
Slippery slope. Currently got 11.

Next time we will definitely sell it once it's going well and we love it to bits, honest!
 
I though my fella would kill me when I told him I'd bought another. He just smiled and said 'great, when can I meet him?'. Go for it! :D
 
when we moved here, I came 2 weeks ahead, by the time my husband arrived we had gained a new horse lol - I'm still alive, and my husband quite likes him :D
 
Farriers bill !!!

On a serious note, 2 is easy at this time of year, with t/o 24/7 and long evenings to ride, but do think forward to winter as this is when I strugggle a bit with mine.
 
I'm hoping to get a lil mini shettie as a companion,I may just have to bring him home+break the news gently :D oh isn't keen but I said if I pay everything for him it won't be any harder looking after 2 lil uns than one :)
