First of all, before anyone jumps on me, I spoke to my Vet yesterday, and they are coming to see her on Monday, as they didn't feel the situation yesterday warranted an immediate visit...
But.. she is worse today, and i don't want to pester them on the weekend if i'm just being an over-reactive mummy (which i am prone to doing)
On Thursday morning, I noticed she was 'off colour', had hardly eaten any hay, but she wolfed down her breakfast, and so I put her out. Thursday pm, still quieter than usual, but again ate her tea like normal, I took her temp, slightly raised, but nothing serious/alarming. Friday am, bright yellow snot coming from her right nostril!
but she was completely back to her usual cheeky bright self, temp still slightly raised. This is when I spoke to vet. We discussed that it could be teething problems (she's 3 rising 4, had her teeth done in November and was noted that a couple of adult back teeth still to come through), or a bit of a virus, but as not got a very high temp, not to worry, but they are coming to see her on Monday.
This morning, the bright (fluorescent) yellow/green snot is a constant stream from her right nostril, but she is perfectly fine in herself, still not eating much hay, but hard feed and grass are fine.
She also now has a touch of mud fever
Do you think the above warrants an emergency weekend call out? Or should I just sit tight until Monday?
It's only my 2 at the yard, so I have no one else horsey to chat to about her
