Reassurance needed pls

My lovely newish horse has a nasty chest infection. First lot of ab's and ventipulmin not worked. So vet back out tomorrow
My last horse had similar which turned into long term RAO or COPD as it was called then
So obviously I am worried sick.
Have any of your horses had similar and made a FULL recovery ???

Mine did years ago - I turned her out full time and just fed her her meds in a hollowed out apple. Now she has just been diagnosed with copd but this is nearly a decade later so I would say no connection.
