Reccomend me a tail rake?!

Hi all,

just wanting your opinions please. Looking to buy a rake for shaping/thinning my mares tail for shows can someone reccomend me a good and reasonably priced one?

Nope! I have one & whilst it's ok for thinning out the top of the tail it doesn't give anything like a pulled tail look that you usualy want for a show. It does tidy up a 'winter tail'.

These are not the cheapest but do a good job if combined with a little pulling when required, the finer ones will give a better finish. Mine has lasted for years and gets a lot of use.

Thats great guys thanks I want to tidy up her tail but i dont want that super thinned look as i done really like it! :s

sorry but you really cant beat a hand pulled tail! if you pull properly you will do it 4 x a year with a little intrin maintenance! if you rake it you will forever be raking, washing and bandaging in the hope it will/might look good one day! do the job properly would be my advice!

I use oster, do a tidy job granted nothing compared to pulling but not a showperson so happy with general look for BS & BE

I got a derby house one off ebay never opened and it's fab, however I don't think they make their own anymore?
