Hoping a regular seller can advise here.

I bought a lovely horse 3 months ago - all fine no worries etc. But the long and the short of it, I paid by bank transfer and we ended up having the horse getting a lift with someone else to a nearby competition venue. Please note there are no issues about a legitimate purchase here. I am only the third owner including the breeder and I have full history, passport, etc.

But, due to my excitement about having the horse and the fact that the seller was also riding another horse that day for a client, I didn't get a physical receipt. The girl that sold him to me is lovely (friend on FB, texts to ask how he is getting on etc). BUT despite the fact that she has actually said to me "Really sorry, must get you the receipt", she hasn't. I would just obviously like one in case of an insurance claim in the future (hopefully not, but you never know). I have copies of the ad and also details of my bank transfer.

I thought I would make it easy for her and send her a receipt for her to sign and send back to me. What should the wording be?

Thanks. :)

I've never been asked for a receipt by my insurance company. The bank transfer etc should surely be enough if need be?

Usually receipts are something like -

£xxx received as payment for "Harvey" 13.2 piebald gelding, 15yrs. Sold as seen and tried. Signed and dated.

Thanks. :) Hopefully it would be, but I had seen some people on here having issues and needing receipts etc. TBH I didn't get one with one of my ponies that I bought years ago from a showing producer (still have him) - her words were, "you've got the pony (and WPCS passport), I've got the money, surely you don't need a receipt". I just know that insurance companies can avoid paying for anything if they can. Cynical, moi??:p
