rechargable clippers

I have a horse that is a tad tricky to clip..he used to have to be IV sedated and after 3 years of weaning him off that and sedalin I can now clip him with mains clippers BUT he is still jumpy and hates the lead of the clippers. I did have some Maverick cordless clippers but they were useless and the company swapped them for Arena ones. They are mains and seem to get a bit hot but of course they are corded so at least they manage a full clip on a big ID without running out of battery. WHat do other people recommend. I have looked at the Heineger re-chargable ones as really think I need to go back to no lead..hes a star with my tiger trimmers and is fine 60% of the clipping-it seems the noise and the lead just freaks him out and to be honest I dont want to go back to where I was with IV so cordless but decent cordless that do the job seem to be needed..suggestions please???
 
I have some heillinger (think thats how you spell it) clippers. They were expensive but useful for nervous horses. They do a full heavy clip and the blades get sharpened after about 4 - 5 uses.
 
I also have the Lister Showman (now called Lister Liberty)- they do a full clip on my very hairy part shire mare very easily

I have the Liveryman Harmony ones, managed to clip my very jumper, hates the clippers 6 yr old without any sedation for the first time today.

Don't think the clippers are great but they were cheap and they do the job of being quiet and cordless!! If I ever have some spare money (unlikely!) I'll be on the lookout for some better ones!

Ditto.....Heiniger cordless,expensive,but well worth the money......do one hairy cob,and still have plenty of power left....recharge quicker than stated in the instructions...also Swiss made so can't go wrong!
 
We've had the Lister Showman for several years and have used them on horses and cows! My old horse used to need to be sedated with normal clippers but with cordless ones I can do her without.
 
I have the moser avalon and am trying to acclimatise my extremely sensitive chap to being clipped. I think it's going to require sedation though for a while.

Moser Avalon (aka Wahl Avalon) are low-vibration and very quiet. They came to me highly recommended and although I haven't actually managed to do the clip yet, they seem good at acclimatising him. I looked on the Peasridge website for advice, and spoke to the people there - they're really helpful.

Some people say the Avalon don't give an immaculate finish, so if you need to look super-smart they may not be suitable.
 
The Lister Liberty (used to Showman) are the market leader in rechargable clippers. However, if you need something really quiet, go for the Liveryman Harmony or the Moser Avalon. But buy finer blades for these to get a nicer finish.
The liberty is on special offer at the moment from Clippersharp. I've got mine and I love them!
