Rechargeable head-torch, recommendations anyone?

Not a particular make to recommend but I would go for one with the battery part separate at the back. I recently bought one which has the battery and the light as one unit and I find it heavy on the front of my head compared to the old one which had separate parts. Both were quite cheap from Decathlon.
 
I have had one of these for a couple of years and they are fantastic, the light output is astonishing (just don't look at the horses with it, its so bright, they really don't like it). I have poo-picked a 3 acre field every night during the winter using this and its great. The batteries do loose there ability to hold a charge eventually but they are common 18650 type and readily available on eBay or Amazon.

Thanks "Darbs"; that one you've shown looks a bit like the one I have; yes agree the light is too strong for the Neds, they don't like it! But I do like the facility to have the three lights on in the front to give you the extra light you need.

Might need two......... one with softer light for doing them in the stables (which are dark as the light isn't really sufficient especially in dark corners), and the other for the fields, checking leccy fencing etc.

If its that type headtorch above just check its not the batteries that need replacing, they are 18650 type that are used in vaping thingies and are readily avaibale on eBay. They don't last forever.

If you do get new batteries get a reputable brand, not the cheapest.
 
I bought 2 head torches a couple of years ago & they are both still working fine. They can be recharged easily & quickly & are very bright with a couple of features that are handy. We use them for clipping & for other things around the yard & at home and they don't cost a fortune @ £7.00 each & sometimes cheaper & my vet was complimentary about them as well.

I have one, too. I never remember a head torch, but I always have a hat, so it's perfect. Also the light is really flat so you don't have the weight of a normal head torch. Mine has three different strengths of light.

Inexpensive and bright but not crazy bright. Has a red light option, which I really like, and can flash. I've used mine for feeding the horses, treating chickens at night, long walks and lots of camping trips all around the world. It's small and robust and is USB rechargeable so I charge it with a power pack when travelling.

ohhh......... thanks for this; yep the charge doesn't seem to last for long

I second this. A friend of mine has a new 'beanie' hat with a built in head torch. It is very powerful. No idea where it came from though, sorry, but it cannot have cost more than a tenner I would have thought as her husband got it for a friend and he is very mean!! She nicked it ...
