Reciept for horse sale...

I have people coming today to pick up a little mare that I have sold for a friend - I need to write up a reciept for us all to sign but am not sure what to put on it (brain doesnt work to well on a sun morning).... Any suggestions...?

Re Boxers comment 'Sold as Seen' This unfortunately doesn't stand up in court. If someone buys a horse from a Private seller the buyer has a 2wk period where they can try to claim their money back should the horse not be as described, If you buy from a dealer the courts accept upto 3 months liability if the horse turns out to be not as described.
 
Hi, I sold my mare yesterday, and put mine and the buyers names and addresses at the top, the date, and then the following -
Received from mr XXXXXX, the sum of £XXXXX as full payment for <name of horse>, being a 16.2hh IDX grey mare, as seen and tried on XX January 08, and as vetted on XX January 08. Items included in sale are as follows <list of rugs/tack etc>

And then signed by both parties Hope this helps, I think that you could probably find a template somewhere on the internet as well!
 
Name and address of seller, buyer.
Description of horse, if it has any vices.
Date of vetting, name of vet practice.
Description of items sold.
Date of sale and price recieved.

I personally would also have it signed by a witness (if possible) aswell as the buyer and yourself.

as above, but also write on the passport number to connect the sale to the passport
