I am fed up with mine (racesafe) as it is just too long for me, fits everywhere else mind. I have a very short body and find most body protectors are too long.

Anyone recommend one that might fit better?

Thankyou

Did you not get the racesafe fitted to you? I got mine at badders and sat on a saddle and had it personally fitted to me and its perfect - personally i don't think any other BP on the market will beat the racesafe and they're all gonna be the same if you don't get them fitted? Xxxx

ive just got a rodney powel, with shoulder thingys. havnt ridden in it yet, cos im naughty and only really wear it for XC, so cant say how it feels to jump in etc, altough wearing it in the house it feels nice, and fits me perfectly
lots of people recommended them though, so they must be pretty good

If you get a protector you must get it fitted (like you would a hat) by a trained BP fitter because they have to fit correctly and it is easy to buy the wrong size. I used to fit the Rodney Powell ones when I worked in a saddlery and they are good, I have an old one that needs updating and I will probably get another.

Ive got a racesafe and I LOVE it! I don't notice I'm wearing it! Racesafe will alter you bodyprotector free of charge, (a friends mum has to send hers off to get shortened).

Cut the back down a bit. I had to do this to mine as although I had it fitted it banged on the saddle when I rode which was most annoying. I just opened up the bottom (most the new ones have the panels that slip out) then cut it down slightly with some scissors and put the cover back over it and sewed it up underneath where the foam was. Just make sure you dont make it too short so it isnt doing the job. I trimmed mine first, rode in it and then sewed it up.
Hope that makes sense.
Seems silly to buy another when it fits otherwise.

I have a Charles Owen one, and ou can swap the fronts and backs around to get one that fits you best (I have Child XL front and an adult XS (or S) back). Having said that, although I loved it to start with, when it comes to replacing it I'll be getting a Racesafe one. I'd see if you can alter yours - give them a call as they seem really helpful.

Kanteq for me!!! and they now do shorter backed ones!! I love mine

The racesafe ones are really good too and they do an alteration or short backed version.

Assuming it is too long at the back could you just not trim it with the scissors ... HBII accepts no safety liability issues with doing that though

I have a navy Racesafe one. And I love mine, all the girls at my yard have it too.. they used to be around £120 when they first came out but there soo much cheaper now..
It's soooo comfy and fits to my body perfectly.
You can buy them with long or short backs and i love how you can adjust the sides by doing them up.

I would recommend them to anyone. They also come in xc colours if yours is specifically suited to XC

Kanteq for me too!!!! I got one a few weeks ago and I can not believe that a body protector can be so comfortable, it was not until I tried it on that I fell in love. I've only really worn them for X-C before but would be happy to wear this all day!! You have full movement and flexibility and best of all you don't feel crushed!!! - where did you get yours?? DEFINITELY THE BEST

Daughter had her racesafe made by Treehouse with a specially shortened back, it now fits superbly.
My husband has stolen her old one as it's the most comfortable back protector he's ever found. They are infinitely adjustable fit wise once you get the back length right, as the sides have shoelace type fasteners.

Kan Teq for me too! I just got my from the saddlers last week. Its fab - I looked at the racesafe but thought this was better designed very comfy and safe - I really like it.

Have to agree its Kanteq all the way!!!! soooo comfy and top of the range in protection. Money well spent. Check out their website. I called them for more info before I bought...really helpful and explained about the foam and stuff. good luck!
