I am going to invest in a decent exersize rug this winter, the last one I bought for a tenner off ebay and spent every outing with it on trying to keep hold of it as it disappeared under my saddle

Any suggestions? would like a wrap around type one as like to have the option of taking it off after warming up a bit

Thanks

The Mark Todd ones are really nice.

HOwever, if you're feeling extra rich - Thermatex. They do all sorts of styles. I favour the quarter sheet myself.

I used the Mark Todd coolex wrap around for some of last winter and thought it was good. It depends how cold/warm your horse is... I have a very cold boy and at times was using it with another woolen one underneath to begin with. The waterproof fleece one is very warm as it stops the wind as well.
I found the coolex one to be quite deep, so if you have a big-ish WB it would probably fit very nicely.

We use the Equafleece hi-viz ones. They are waterproof, warm and cosy etc. You can get them in different cuts for deeper horses too.

I really like my thermatex quarter sheet that I bought for £35 at olympia - bargain! For hacking I have a kingshead fluroescent sheet that I put over the top of the thermatex.

I have a Eurostar wrap around fleece which is great, also has a front attachment to turn in to a rug at shoes with just a gap in it for the saddle

ive got a great whitney one but its not wrap aound, goes under the saddle and never moves, but ive invested in the waterproof Masta quarter sheet ones, you dont have to worry about them moving as they attach to the back of the saddle.

The Mark Todd ones are devine, hard to get hold of but absolutly gorgeous.

The one I have never got used on Mac as he retired before it arrived (ordered in Dec arrived in May) , it's a bit too big for Atty but so nice I shall be sticking with it.
